Back in Portugal I was part of deadinbeirute™ - a creative studio. Just before I left I had the pleasure to design their (our) website. The guidelines were straight - we knew what we wanted to show and what was important to show to our clients. This website never intended to be an artist expression of ourselves, rather a means of showing us as a creative provider that values the client and the work we do and how we do it. We achieved that by keeping the value in the content itself, keeping it simple to what we considered enough - we want to attract people and let them know us without over saturating it with unnecessary information.
The work showcase is a valuable area. Many sketches were done until we got what we wanted - the information about the project is easy to read, the images flow in a flexible grid and we want the user to read the whole project to the end and be able to share it. The background of the work area can be black or white according to what fits the project the most. As having new work/clients is important we kept a button visible in every page’s footer for new work enquiries.
